"and if you're interested you can buy some bathtub absinthe from me for 50 caps per half litre, genuine wormwood infusion, bitter as hell, and it'll take you there" She made her little sales pitch.

Ikarus nodded to the man and made a mental note to check those places later, they might be good for thieving. He also made a mental note to stay friends with this man-his own MRE stash really was far away and hard to get to. And he was rich! "'ello, am Ikarus" he stated simply. Looking at the much taller man, he decided there would be no fighting him, and no stealing from him-yet...
...Maybe after a couple of drinks, Ikarus smiled inwardly.

Carrie pocketed the caps eagerly, watching the two men. as much as she was enthralled with the man's wealth and generosity, she could not make herself actually like him. She went back to her van, quickly unlocking one of the doors, throwing the caps in, not liking to have so many in public, and locking the door again rapidly.

Crud. One of the problems with wearing a helmet all the time was that your face was concealed. As a result, you could forget to guard your expression if you weren't careful. Oh well, Ikarus supposed there must be other people somehere to rob.

Damian looked around before turning and walking to an old beat up truck on the side of the rode.The truck was out of fuel but Damian poured the rest from the container into the truck and started it before leaving.

Carrie watched in confusion as he abandoned the "horse he rode in on." it was a nice car in reasonable shape, but she decided that this was a man whose actions she would never be able to predict. His behavior didn't seem to jive so well with the standards of Klamathi living but she wouldnt be the one to tell him. He seemed like a spillover from Reno or Las Vegas. but, then, perhaps he was just a roughneck and she was being too quick to judge him.

Ikarus had been eyeing the dead carcass of the car Damian rode in on, and he finally made his move as Damian drove off. With a glint in his eye, Ikarus sets to work searching for anything he could find in the truck that would be useful.
A few loose bottlecaps...
Some dead rodent, ew....
Slitting open the seats in order to get the fabric, Ikarus finds something...interesting.
Sown into the seat is a large bag full of something that looks like handrolled cigarrettes. Maybe they were Damian's, or they could have been put there before the apocalypse.
Anyways, they were his now, and Ikarus reckoned he would probably try one later, just to see what it was. For now he stuffed the cigarrette bag and seat fabric into his bag, along with anything else he could find.

Carrie walked back to her van, undoing the heavy lock and going inside, locking it up from the inside. She moved some junk off the futon in the back and laid down to get some rest for the remainder of the hot afternoon.

Carrie woke that evening, she walked to the broken down vehicle that the man had abandoned in the street. She forced it into neutral and began pushing it towards the back of her van.
Using a piece of rope from inside the van she tied the car to a pair of steel towing loops under her back bumper. She really put her weight into making sure the knots were tight and the car wouldn't drift when towed. She knew she could make a pretty penny for hauling the chassis to be junked.
She only had to wait for a few more litres of fuel to brew in her bathtub still. She climbed up onto the roof of the car to sit and keep an eye on her surroundings.

Ikarus finally woke up, feeling very hungover. "What happened?" he wondered, and then he began to remember...the cigarrettes in the bag...he'd smoked one...a couple....that wasn't tobacco....but it was good. He smiled and started to laugh a little giddily at the thought of last night, perhaps it was some of the aftereffects of the drug. After a while of some more laughing and a big breakfast, he finally remembered about Carrie, and the gas. d**n! Ikarus ran out to where the van should have been parked, only to see tire tracks. He sighed, so much for gas.
With nothing left to do, Ikarus returned to his bike and created a sortof harness for it-he'd have to pull his bike to wherever he could find fuel. Ikarus set out, pulling the bike with him and checking promising looking cars along the way...

I slipped out of my little lean-to and readied my gear. I drew my katana and had a few practice swipes before putting it back. I walked over to the large bush clump hiding my motorcycle. I got onto it and rode off, in the direction of Klamath. I reached there by nightfall, and saw a man walking along pulling a motorcycle. "Ello there. Ya need 'elp?" I asked, my drawling of the words evident.
